For the collar covers, I’m going to add an extra two colors in hopes of ending up with a finished result that is 1-1.5 inches wide. I’m in for the long haul, it would seem, but I was wondering; what length (for white) would you recommend for an 8 color item that needs to be 26 inches in length?

I get that you’re frustrated; I encountered the same issue on my practice piece at first. But maybe try being a bit more kind? It’s 100% free (much like this tutorial!) and requires less practice than friendship bracelets!

A lot is trial and error. Start with the smallest number and then add on for your longer threads. Meaning, the first five should match the five that I listed, and then tack on proportionately ten or so inches for the additional colors. You’ll be working with LONG threads.

Hi, if you’re using your own images and not copying my text, you are allowed to do what you want 🙂 I do appreciate if there is a link back, and if this is a new pattern there then it’s not added to the site, especially using my instructions. But I definitely can’t allow/disallow use of your images.

You do not need to double it. 90 inches gets folded in half. YOu need 2×45 inches. YOu’re only making a handful of black knots which is why it is so short. YOu can, however, add a few inches to the shorter lengths if you want to be sure.

So I need 15 feet of white???? 90 inches doubled is 180 which is 15 feet….

if it helps I just made this bracelet by doubling the string lengths (turned out wonderful by the way, thank you for the amazing tut!) and had ample string left so it seems as if you would not need to double them
