Hi Natalie,
So much depends on which leather you&#039;re using, and it does vary from machine to machine. I basically chose the leather option that I felt was best for what I had and stuck with that setting. It will tell you which blade to insert. The Cricut faux leather is very thin, thinner than the one I used, and cuts with the regular fine point blade. Some of them allow you to choose which blade you&#039;re using, so it won&#039;t work with the thicker faux leather I used here. You can also edit the cut strength here: https://help.cricut.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009383274-How-do-I-use-or-create-a-Custom-material-setting- 
If you&#039;re concerned about material waste, I&#039;d recommend cutting a few small circles on different settings until you see which works best for you.]]></description>
