Good morning! I have started bead collection but right now I am just making some funky ink pens. I am having a heck of a time finding the beads with a hole big enough to go over the shaft of the pen. I’m really not sure what size hole it is and how to find beads with the correct size hole. Do you have any words of wisdom for me pertaining to hole size? I have just been bringing a naked pen with me to every store that has beads on sale and attempting to get the right size hole. This is challenging. I also pick up nice costume jewelry at yard and estate sales and take the beads off. This is fun but not always effective at getting the right size hole. I wish the manufacturers would put on the packaging what size the home is and sometimes on strung beads there are different size holes. Arggggg!

I would take my project with me to a craft store and find the correct size buy for that one project and then you can order online

Try to wax your thread, but it’s a coating like she said nothing lasts forever unless you can find a bead completely made of that specific material. If your confident with the sewed section that’s what I would do. Use silver nail polish and then a clear coat. If uncomfortable with the way it’s made retread it and wax or use fishing line are the other things I can think of. Merry Xmas

Dollar tree has great storage containers - you can also use a tackle box! But for tiny storage I would go to dollar tree, even a pill organizer works great but make sure it’s got a place that’s clear so you can see the beads!

I use seed beads as spacers in more colorful, more delicate pieces. I find that I can accent my main beads better with them, at a more reasonable cost. (Not the uber tiny ones, but still pretty small!) They give my clay, polished beads a bit of individual distinction rather than being clumped together.

I found a whole lot of bead shops via eBay especially from Japan and China. You get free shipping or pay a small shipping fee of few cents. The selection is huge! Only downside is having to wait weeks or months for shipping.
I make Christmas ornaments and Decor with beads often I can't find that specific color or texture I need, the right amount or few options without buying a whole set of beads I don't need
