<p>Make your own paper tulips with this free printable template! I love making paper flowers (you&#8217;ll find my <a href="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/diy-paper-heliconia/">heliconia paper flower template here</a>) and the tulip is such a classic it deserves its own tutorial!</p>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><a href="https://izea.it/akvc8r2" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1700" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-v.jpg" alt="Make your own paper tulips with this free printable paper flower template! <div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>When we were kids, it was a real treat to go with my mother to <a href="https://izea.it/akvc8r2" rel="nofollow">A.C. Moore</a> stores and pick out some cool crafting activities for the weekend.</p>

<p>To make these paper tulips, I used scrapbook paper from Love by Nicole, A.C. Moore&#8217;s proprietary brand that&#8217;s available exclusively at their stores.</p>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><a href="https://izea.it/akvc8r2" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="618" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-20983" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-1.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-1-300x232.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-1-768x593.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-1-150x116.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>I used a clever blend of solids and patterns for a striking-but-eclectic look. On one, I left the pattern as an accent on the inside, on the other, I let the paisley pop pattern really shine.</p>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><a href="https://izea.it/akvc8r2" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="800" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-s.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-20991" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-s.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-s-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-s-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-s-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><a href="https://izea.it/akvc8r2" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1067" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-7.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-20989" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-7.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-7-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-7-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-7-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>I also created another variation of these paper tulips where I put Premiere by Nicole alcohol markers to good use, coloring the template by myself.</p>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>These paper tulips can be collected in a vase, taped to a sheet of paper and framed in a shadow box, or even crafted around a pen as a gift!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What you need to make paper tulips:</h2>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>The template (print it above)</li><li>Love Nicole scrapbook paper from <a href="https://izea.it/akvc8r2" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">A.C. Moore</a></li><li>OR Premiere by Nicole alcohol markers</li><li>Scissors</li><li>Paper adhesive (such as glue dots)</li></ul>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to make paper tulips &#8211; easy paper flower craft</h2>

<div style="height:42px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>1. Choose your scrapbook paper! I love the Love Nicole Paisley Pop pad with the two-sided paper. The solid color on the back helped me treat the pattern like a solid and choose appropriate colors.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="600" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-1.jpg" alt="1. Choose your paper for your paper tulips" class="wp-image-20993" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-1.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-1-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-1-150x113.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>2. Cut out your template. You have large petals and small ones, and another page with two leaves.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1067" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-2.jpg" alt="2. Cut out your paper tulips template" class="wp-image-20994" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-2.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-2-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-2-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-2-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>3. Use the template to trace your scrapbook paper. Cut out 5 large petals, and if you&#8217;d like to make a double tulip, cut out 5 small ones as well. Cut the slit at the bottom of the template too. Don&#8217;t worry about getting them too exact &#8211; they&#8217;re not identical on real tulips anyway!</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="600" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-3.jpg" alt="3. Cut out five petals for your paper tulips" class="wp-image-20995" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-3.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-3-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-3-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-3-150x113.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>4. Cut out your leaves.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1067" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-4.jpg" alt="4. Use the paper tulips template to cut out leaves" class="wp-image-20996" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-4.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-4-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-4-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-4-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>5. If you prefer, you can color your template directly! I used Premiere by Nicole Design and Sketch markers.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="600" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-14.jpg" alt="14. Try your paper tulips with alcohol markers" class="wp-image-21006" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-14.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-14-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-14-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-14-150x113.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>Color your leaves as well. The color should seep through to the back if you give it good coverage. You can layer it on if you&#8217;d like!</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1067" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-19.jpg" alt="19. Color your paper tulips leaves with alcohol markers" class="wp-image-21011" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-19.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-19-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-19-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-19-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>6. When your parts are prepared, fold over the slit at the bottom, and attach the two sides, folding up an almost ninety degree curve at the bottom.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1067" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-5.jpg" alt="5. Tape the two sides of the paper tulips base together" class="wp-image-20997" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-5.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-5-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-5-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-5-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>7. If you&#8217;d like to give your paper tulips&#8217; petals more structure, you can crease them at the end or roll back the tip a bit &#8211; or do both.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1067" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-8.jpg" alt="8. Crease and/or slightly roll your paper tulips petals" class="wp-image-21000" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-8.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-8-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-8-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-8-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>8. Fold your leaf in half, starting at the pointy tip.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1067" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-6.jpg" alt="6. Crease your leaves" class="wp-image-20998" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-6.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-6-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-6-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-6-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>9. Once again, starting from the tip, roll your leaves back.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1067" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-7.jpg" alt="7. Roll your leaves" class="wp-image-20999" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-7.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-7-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-7-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-7-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>10. Create a stem! For this, I used an 8&#215;8 inch sheet from the Morning Brew pad by Love Nicole. I started at the corner and rolled, that way I only had to secure it at the last corner.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1067" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-9.jpg" alt="9. Roll out a stem" class="wp-image-21001" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-9.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-9-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-9-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-9-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>11. Cut off the corners of your stem so that the top and bottom are both flat.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1067" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-10.jpg" alt="10. Straighten the ends of your stem" class="wp-image-21002" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-10.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-10-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-10-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-10-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>12. Attach your leaves flush with the base of the paper tulips&#8217; stem. Let it curve a bit with the shape of the stem, and then fix the leaves so that they roll back comfortably.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1067" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-11.jpg" alt="11. Attach paper tulips leaves at the base" class="wp-image-21003" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-11.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-11-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-11-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-11-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>13. Cut a few slits at the top of your stem about half an inch deep, and bend back the sections.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1067" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-13.jpg" alt="13. Slit and bend out the top of stem to hold the paper tulips" class="wp-image-21005" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-13.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-13-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-13-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-13-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>14. Time to assemble your paper tulips! Start by adding a glue dot to the bottom of one petal, and then nestle it into the other. Continue all around as pictured until your paper tulips are complete! If need be, paste together petals in more spots as needed.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="998" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-12.jpg" alt="12. Assemble your paper tulips" class="wp-image-21004" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-12.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-12-240x300.jpg 240w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-12-768x958.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-12-120x150.jpg 120w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>15. Trying to make some double paper tulips? Double tulips have two layers of petals. To create this, repeat step 14 with your small petals too so that you have two separate flowers.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="600" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-15.jpg" alt="15. Try some double paper tulips" class="wp-image-21007" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-15.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-15-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-15-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-15-150x113.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>16. Now, paste the smaller flower into the larger one.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1067" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-16.jpg" alt="16. Nestle the smaller ones inside the larger ones" class="wp-image-21008" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-16.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-16-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-16-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-16-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>17. Another great alternative to try: make your paper tulips so that the printed side of your scrapbook paper is on the inside, just peeking out. This is my favorite version of all three paper tulips that I created using this paper flower template!</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1067" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-17.jpg" alt="17. Try it with the solid color on the outside and the pattern on the inside" class="wp-image-21009" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-17.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-17-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-17-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-17-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>18. Finally, add glue dots to the sections of the stem that you created in step 13 and place your flower on top.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1067" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-18.jpg" alt="18. Attach your paper tulips to the stem" class="wp-image-21010" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-18.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-18-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-18-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-step-18-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p><strong>Your paper tulips are complete! Don&#8217;t you just love the bright, scrappy look they have to them?!</strong></p>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1067" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-7.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-20989" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-7.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-7-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-7-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/paper-tulips-7-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>Make one, make three, or make five dozen. Either way, you&#8217;ll be proud of the results. Play around with different variations of the leaves, the stem, and the paper tulips themselves.</p>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>When Baby Y was first diagnosed with a food allergy, I stepped into an unfamiliar world.</p>
<p>It was a world where eating at someone else&#8217;s home meant anxiety that could keep me up at night.</p>
<p>It was a world where my older child&#8217;s favorite food could kill my toddler G-d forbid.</p>
<p>And it was a world where forgetting the &#8220;kids&#8217; suitcase&#8221; including my son&#8217;s epipen behind on a visit to my parents can induce a panic attack smack in the middle of driving (true story.)</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>There are few things that can really relieve the anxiety of being the mother of a highly allergic toddler, but knowing that there is an emergency response available does give a touch of comfort.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20884" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-fs.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-fs.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-fs-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-fs-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-fs-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>I first made this Epipen case for Baby Y&#8217;s Epipen duo. I thought it would be cool to have something a little prettier to carry it in, as well as something that provides a bit of cushion.</p>
<p>I used felt because I feel like it insulates a bit (and Epipens ARE temperature sensitive &#8211; they need to be kept at room temp.) <strong>Do not rely on this to insulate your pen &#8211; I only use it as secondary protection. </strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Another important detail: this epipen case pattern is designed to fit two Epipens perfectly for good reason: you are <a href="https://www.webmd.com/allergies/news/20100326/kids-with-food-allergies-may-need-two-epipens#1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">meant to have both with you at all times</a>, in case the first doesn&#8217;t work or isn&#8217;t enough.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20878" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f2.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="845" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f2.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f2-284x300.jpg 284w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f2-768x811.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f2-142x150.jpg 142w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p><a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20883" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f7.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="1067" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f7.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f7-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f7-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f7-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a> <a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20882" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f6.jpg" alt="Having an epipen case when you have food allergies can make things so much easier #foodallergies #allergytips" width="800" height="1067" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f6.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f6-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f6-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f6-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>When designing this epipen case, I used a hook and loop closure to make it easy to open quickly. I needed a solution to make it clear what&#8217;s inside &#8211; you may want to go even further than I did.</p>
<p>On one, I decoupaged a medical warning symbol on a metal disc, and covered it with Mod Podge Dimensional Magic. I glued this on the flap of the case.&nbsp; I kept this one for Baby Y and probably should have also embroidered the word &#8220;epinephrine&#8221; or something along those lines.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20881" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f5.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="1067" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f5.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f5-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f5-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f5-112x150.jpg 112w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a> <a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20877" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f1.jpg" alt="Create your own epipen case - a lifesaver if you have food allergies in your family!" width="800" height="1006" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f1.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f1-239x300.jpg 239w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f1-768x966.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f1-119x150.jpg 119w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>On the second, I painted on an allergy symbol using Fabric Creations Soft Fabric Ink and paint mini paint brushes. I wrote the word Epinephrine on the other side. This one I gifted to a friend (you can see<a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/BiTATuYnnmp/?taken-by=beyondthebalagan" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> the story</a> about how gifting this to her was a huge saving factor when she had a severe anaphylactic reaction!)</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Since I use this inside my diaper bag or handbag, I didn&#8217;t add a carrying element. On the rare occasion that I use it on its own, I carry it like a clutch. If you want, you can sew a folded ribbon into the seam as you go along to turn it into a wristlet. Or add a full shoulder strap. You can cut two belt-sized slits in the back and thread it onto a belt if you&#8217;d like a teen or child to carry it on their person.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20879" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f3.jpg" alt="Stow your epipen case in your diaper bag or handbag" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f3.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f3-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f3-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f3-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a> <a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20880" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f4.jpg" alt="Your epipen case is compact and fits right in" width="800" height="770" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f4.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f4-300x289.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f4-768x739.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-f4-150x144.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Anyway, enough with the explanation. Here&#8217;s the tutorial&#8230;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

<h2>How to make an Epipen case:</h2>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>1. Cut your template and trace it on your felt.</p>
<p><a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20865" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-1.jpg" alt="Make an epipen case step 1 - print the template" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-1.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-1-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-1-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-1-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>2. Use fabric scissors to cut out our felt.</p>
<p><a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20866" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-2.jpg" alt="Make an epipen case step 2- cut your felt" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-2.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-2-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-2-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-2-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a> <a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20867" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-3.jpg" alt="Make an epipen case step 2 - cut your felt" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-3.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-3-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-3-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-3-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>3. Fold it up to the markings on the template (or use your Epipens to measure).</p>
<p><a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20868" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-4.jpg" alt="Make an epipen case step 3 - fold according to the template" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-4.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-4-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-4-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-4-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>4. Starting at the corner, sew up that epipen case! Thread your embroidery floss and poke it from the inside of the felt to the outside so that the knot lands up on the interior of your case. Stitch a couple of times in place.</p>
<p><a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20869" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-5.jpg" alt="Make an epipen case step 4 start sewing" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-5.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-5-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-5-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-5-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Continue with a <a href="https://www.holiday-crafts-and-creations.com/how-to-do-blanket-stitch.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blanket stitch</a> (you&#8217;re basically pulling the thread up through the loop that you create instead of on the outside of the loop).</p>
<p><a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20870" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-6.jpg" alt="Make an epipen case step 4 use a blanket stitch" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-6.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-6-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-6-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-6-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p><a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20871" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-7.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-7.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-7-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-7-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-7-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Make sure to place a stitch at the edge of the opening. Continue around the flap if you&#8217;d like, or trim and sew the other side. If you&#8217;re continuing around, make sure to &#8220;catch&#8221; the opening again in the right place when you come around to it (it can help to pin it in place).</p>
<p><a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20872" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-8.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-8.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-8-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-8-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-8-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>5. Finish off your last stitch inside your epipen case, knot it, and poke the knot back into the case.</p>
<p><a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20873" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-9.jpg" alt="Make an epipen case finish it off" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-9.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-9-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-9-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-9-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>6. Label your epipen case clearly however you&#8217;d like!</p>
<p><a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20874" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-10.jpg" alt="Make sure to label your epipen carrying case clearly" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-10.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-10-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-10-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-10-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>7. Add a hook and loop closure. Attach the two sides how they&#8217;ll be when they&#8217;re closed. Glue it onto one side.</p>
<p><a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20875" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-11.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-11.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-11-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-11-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-11-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Add more glue to the other side of your hook and loop, and close the flap of the case. Allow it to dry about an hour, make sure you can open your hook and loop properly and allow it to cure for 24 hours.</p>
<p><a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20876" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-12.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-12.jpg 800w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-12-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-12-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-12-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>If you&#8217;d like, you can glue on trim such as leather cord or coordinating ribbons.</p>
<p><a href="https://rstyle.me/n/c4n27qb5xs7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-20886" src="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-fw.jpg" alt="" width="1200" height="938" srcset="https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-fw.jpg 1200w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-fw-300x235.jpg 300w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-fw-768x600.jpg 768w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-fw-1024x800.jpg 1024w, https://www.momsandcrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/epipen-case-fw-150x117.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Stow your epipens in your brand new felt epipen case and you&#8217;re good to go!</p>
