Hashtag Magnets Craft
With the back-to-school season just around the corner, I thought I’d go back to my roots and do one for the teens once again! These hashtag magnets are inspired by my super popular Tetris magnets that I made a while ago (and still sit on my fridge…) Both of these crafts are perfect for embellishing a locker, but the # is great for adding mood notes! #Awesome. #Smile. #BeCrafty. You get it…
I would like to give a shout-out to Evelyne of Nemcsok farms. You might recognize her from this funky mug cozy. We were bouncing ideas off each other and it’s totally thanks to her that I came up with this idea.
Whether you are tacking notices to your fridge, decorating your locker, or just crafting for fun, you’ll love these hashtag magnets! I know, they don’t have the slant that you imagine ### hashtags to come with, but I think they’re kind of cool regardless.

I used square wooden beads and glued them side by side using E6000. I chose “natural” (painted) wood colors, but you can try colorful beads too. For the magnets, I went with super-strong neodymium magnets. Alternatively, you can use typical ceramic magnets. They are just not as strong and are thicker.
Just a word of caution: do NOT leave neodymium magnets around with young kids. If they are swallowed they can cause lots of damage.
What you need to make hashtag magnets:
- E6000 glue
- wood square beads (I use the kinds with rounded edges)
- magnets
How to make Hashtag magnets:
1. Arrange eight beads in a square like this:
2. Add two more around each corner like this:
3. Dab a bit of E6000 between beads, connecting them one at a time:
4. Add magnets to the back.
Display with pride alongside your cork character magnets and tetris magnets!
Use it to attach a tag or message….
Display them as a wood tone trio…
These hashtag magnets are great for gifting too! Throw them into a small tin and they’ll even stick and look so intentional!
