Turning one into a hair clip is easy, all you have to do is glue it onto an alligator clip for some adorable, heart themed headgear.

How about adding a thread to attach them as original and charming gift tags?

These sweet crochet hearts can be used as appliques. Sew them onto clothes and accessories to dress them up and add some extra flair.

Another way to use them is to attach one to a gift or card to add a little extra dose of love.

How to crochet a small heart:

1: Select a colored yarn of your choice and start your work with a slip knot at the open end of the yarn. Chain 4 and form a ring.

2: After forming the ring, work 4 chains.

3: Work a DC (double crochet) through the center of the ring.

4: Work 3 more DC through the center of the ring. This means that we worked a total of 4 DC.

5: Now work 2 TR (treble crochet) through the ring.

6: Next, work 4 chains.

7: Work a slip stitch through the center.

8: Chain 4 again to start working on the other half of the heart pattern.

9: Work 2 TR and then 4 DC through the center of the pattern.

10: Find the 4th chain of our first 4 chains and work a slip stitch through it. The first round of the crochet heart pattern is done.

11: Work 4 chains to start the second round of the heart pattern.

12: Work 1 DC into the same chain stitch where we worked the slip stitch.

13: Now, work 2 DC into the next chain stitch.

14: Work 2 DC into the next 2 chain stitches.

15: Now, work 1 DC and 1 TR into the next chain stitch.

16: Work 2 TR into the next chain stitch.

17: Work 3 TR into the next chain stitch. This will be the last one.

18: Find the first stitch of the 4 chains of that end. Work 1 DC into the first chain stitch of the 4 chains.

19 +20: Now, chain 4 and slip stitch into the center of the heart pattern.

21: Work 4 chain stitches.

22: Find the 4th chain of the top chain stitch and work a DC into the 4th chain stitch.

23: Follow this pattern for the next 6 chain stitches – 3 TR, 2 TR, 1 Tr-1DC, 2 DC, 2 DC, and 2 DC.

24: Find the 4th chain of the next stitches and work a slip stitch into it.

25: Remove the crochet hook and cut off the yarn from the bundle by leaving a few extra inches.

26: Insert a tapestry needle through the open end of the yarn.

27: Work a few running stitches on the backside of the heart pattern and then cut off extra yarn.
